Please read these terms carefully before placing an order.
By purchasing a book cover from Candlelight Covers, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before placing an order.
Candlelight Covers provides premade and custom book cover design services for independent authors and publishers. Services include ebook covers, print covers (full wraps), and audiobook covers. Promotional mockups and add-ons may also be available.
Browse the available premade designs and select a cover. Submit your book details (title, author name, and any tagline or series name) through the purchase form. If your details are not yet finalized, you may purchase the cover and provide the information later. Payment must be completed to secure your cover. Premade covers remain available to other buyers until payment is confirmed.
Submit a project inquiry with your book details, genre, and any visual preferences. You will receive a quote based on the scope of the project. Payment is required before design work begins. The designer will provide draft concepts for your review, followed by revisions until the cover is finalized.
If ordering a print cover (full wrap), you must provide the following:
Turnaround times are estimates and may vary during high-demand periods. If a significant delay is expected, you will be notified.
Ebook covers are delivered as high-resolution JPEG files (typically 1800 x 2700 pixels, optimized for major retailers including Amazon KDP). PNG and PDF versions may also be included. Print covers are delivered as print-ready PDF files formatted to your printer's specifications. Audiobook covers are delivered as square JPEG files (typically 2400 x 2400 pixels). Promotional 3D mockups may be included where applicable.
All files are delivered via email. Spine width for print covers is calculated from the exact page count you provide. Significant changes to page count after delivery may require a revised file at additional cost.
The premade cover price includes minor text customizations: your title, author name, tagline, and series name. Minor adjustments such as font color changes or text repositioning are included at no extra charge. Requests that alter the core design (changing imagery, background, or overall composition) are considered outside the standard scope and may incur additional fees.
Custom cover pricing includes up to three (3) rounds of revisions within the agreed scope of the project. A revision is defined as an adjustment to the existing design concept, such as font changes, color tweaks, or text edits. A request for a fundamentally different design concept or significant re-composition may be treated as a new project and quoted accordingly. Additional revision rounds beyond the included three will be quoted separately.
Any request not included in the original project scope will be quoted separately before work proceeds. You will never be charged for additional work without prior agreement.
All payments are due before design work begins. Payments are processed through secure third-party providers such as PayPal, Stripe, or credit card via the website checkout system.
All sales are final. Due to the exclusive nature of book cover designs and the administrative work involved in managing stock, no refunds are offered on premade or custom cover purchases. For premade covers, the listing is permanently removed from the catalog upon purchase, making the transaction non-reversible. For custom covers, since payment is required before work begins and the design process is collaborative, cancellations are not eligible for refunds.
If you experience a technical issue with your files (e.g., corrupted download), contact us and we will resend them promptly.
Upon payment, you receive an exclusive, perpetual license to use the cover design for your book across all publishing formats (ebook, print, audiobook) and for related marketing and promotional purposes.
Candlelight Covers retains the copyright of the overall design and reserves the right to display the cover in its portfolio and for promotional purposes.
You represent and warrant that all materials you provide (book title, author name, tagline, blurb, images, and any other content) do not infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any third party. You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Candlelight Covers from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to your breach of this warranty.
In most cases, the designer provides the images for both premade and custom covers by sourcing them from professional stock photography libraries. The cost of sourcing and licensing these images is included in the cover price. All images are used under their applicable commercial licenses.
You may provide your own images for custom projects. If you supply your own photos, you are responsible for ensuring you hold the proper rights or licenses to use those images for a commercial book cover. Candlelight Covers accepts no liability for copyright issues arising from client-supplied imagery.
While your final cover design is exclusive to you and will never be resold, the underlying stock photographs are not exclusive. Stock images are available from public libraries, and other designers or authors may independently purchase and use the same source images for different projects. Candlelight Covers mitigates this by applying custom edits, color adjustments, compositing, and creative transformations to make each design distinctive.
Every premade cover is sold only once. Once your purchase is complete, the design is permanently removed from the catalog and will not be sold to any other buyer.
Sales operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Adding a cover to a wishlist or shopping cart does not reserve it. A cover is secured only when payment is completed. If you are unable to finalize your book details at the time of purchase, you may pay to secure the cover and provide your title and author name at a later date.
All project communication is handled via email. Please allow a reasonable response time, particularly during weekends and high-demand periods. Turnaround times begin from the point at which both payment and all required information have been received.
Candlelight Covers provides book cover design services on a best-efforts basis. While every effort is made to deliver high-quality, professional designs, liability is limited to the total amount paid for the specific cover in question. Candlelight Covers is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to lost sales, lost profits, or publishing delays.
Candlelight Covers does not guarantee any particular sales, marketing success, or publishing outcome from use of the cover, nor that underlying stock images will not be used independently by other designers or authors.
Candlelight Covers shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform due to causes beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, pandemics, war, acts of civil or military authorities, fire, floods, strikes, or disruptions to essential services.
If you are unsatisfied with your cover, please contact us directly so we can work toward a resolution. We aim to resolve any concerns through open communication and, where appropriate, additional revisions within the original project scope.
If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be governed by the laws of Ireland and subject to the jurisdiction of the Irish courts.
Candlelight Covers reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
